CONSULTING FOR BCBAs
Consulting for BCBAs
Year one is a lot. It’s more if your brain doesn’t run on the factory settings.
You passed. Congratulations, genuinely.
Now you have a caseload, a team of RBTs looking at you like you have answers, a billable expectation, and a stack of documentation that somehow has to happen during hours that do not exist. Nobody prepared you for the part where you’re the one everyone asks.
And if you’re autistic, ADHD, or some combination nobody has named yet, you’re doing all of that while also managing the meeting where everyone reads the room faster than you do, the report that takes you four hours because starting it is the hardest part, and the low hum of wondering whether this is normal-hard or wrong-for-me hard.
That question is worth answering with someone who isn’t your clinical director.
WHO THIS IS FOR
Newly certified BCBAs in their first year or two, especially neurodivergent ones. You don’t have to have a diagnosis, disclose anything, or explain yourself to work with me. If you read that paragraph and felt seen, you’re in the right place.
What we actually work on
Getting your documentation and reports out of the 11pm slot and into a system that runs without heroics.
Supervising RBTs when corrective feedback feels genuinely uncomfortable. There is a way to do this that doesn’t require becoming someone else.
Making clinical calls alone for the first time, with a second brain to check them against before you commit.
Caseload creep, boundaries, and the word no. Especially the word no.
Meetings, parents, and teams. Not how to mask better. How to be effective as yourself, and where a script or a written agenda does more work than personality ever will.
Sorting normal-hard from wrong-fit, honestly, with someone who has no stake in keeping you at your job.
How it works
We meet virtually. You bring what’s actually on fire that week. I ask questions, we build the thing, you leave with something you can use on Monday.
Bring the messy version. You don’t need to prepare a polished summary for me. Cameras optional, always.
Ways to work together
Single Consult Call
$150 · 60 minutes, virtual
Bring one thing that’s stuck. A report you can’t start, a supervision conversation you’re dreading, a clinical call you want a second opinion on, or the bigger question of whether this job is the right fit. You leave with a written one-page summary: what we decided and what you’re doing next.
Best for: a specific problem, or finding out whether we work well together.
Year One Foundations
$750 · three months
Six biweekly sessions plus support between them. We build the systems that make this job sustainable, in the order you actually need them. Documentation that doesn’t eat your evenings. Supervising RBTs in a way that fits how you communicate. Boundaries around your caseload. And a standing place to bring the thing you can’t say at work.
Between sessions, email or voice memo me and I’ll answer within one business day. Year one problems are time-sensitive and two weeks is too long to wait.
Best for: your first two years post-certification, when everything is new at once.
What this isn’t
This is not BACB fieldwork supervision. If you’re a trainee accruing hours, that’s a different page.
This is not therapy or mental health treatment.
This is not connected to your employer. Nothing you say here goes anywhere.
