I’ve been doing this for over 18 years, which is long enough that I’ve stopped pretending I have a five-year plan. I have interests. They keep turning into businesses.

Here’s the actual through line: I support neurodivergent people. Teens, through the social group program I built because the “social skills group” options in my area made me want to lie down on the floor. Adults, through behavior services in the HCS program, which is the part of this field almost nobody talks about and desperately needs more people in it. And behavior analysts, because a lot of us are neurodivergent too and the profession has not exactly built itself around that.

I’m also awkward. Genuinely. I will lose the thread of a sentence halfway through, I have been told my resting face reads as furious when I am in fact just thinking, and small talk costs me something. I bring this up because if you’re a trainee wondering whether you have to perform Polished Professional to be good at this job, you don’t. I’m proof. I’ve been running programs, supervising trainees, and sitting across from families for nearly two decades while being exactly this, and it turns out the kids don’t care and neither do the adults worth working with.

What I’m actually good at: noticing what’s broken in a system before anyone else does, then building the tool that fixes it. Most of the digital products I sell exist because I got frustrated at 11pm and made something. Documentation that holds up. Supervision that doesn’t fall apart when the caseload grows. Data tools that do the math so you can go to bed.
